the tuck bike features foldable wheels and collapses to the size of a weekend bag
with the aim of making urban commutes simpler and stress-free, british inventor alex animashaun presents his latest creation – the tuck bike. launching september 2020 on kickstarter, not only does the design feature a foldable frame, but also folding wheels that shrink the bike down a compact size.

without compromising on style or performance, the full-size bike weighs just 14kg and folds down to 61 x 83 x 37cm – roughly the size of a weekend bag. when folded, you can roll it down the subway platform thanks to its spinner wheels. the bike also stands on its own in a crowded train, making it ideal for city living and urban dwellers to commute to work by train. the tuck bike can also be easily stored, fitting easily under a desk or in the trunk of a small car.
the bike can be rolled when folded
alex animashaun, founder and CEO of tuck bike, said; ‘the north star has always been to create a bike that matches or exceeds the handling, feel and speed of your full-sized bike. it’s meant to be a full-sized bike that also folds, not a folding bike. the feedback from riders is that we’ve achieved just that. our research shows that the biggest turn-off with existing folding bikes is their small frame and wheels. tuck bike is the modern answer to urban commuters, as the foldable bike you’ll be proud to be seen riding.’
the first-of-its-kind folding wheel system (patent pending) has been developed over the past 3 years by engineer alex animashaun from london. designed for urban commuting, the carbon fiber spoked wheel and airless foam tyres fold into three pieces like stacked slices of pizza. the tyres are puncture proof and never require pumping. it’s meant for frequent commuters – and folds/unfolds in under two minutes.
