This means no mobile, unfortunately, but the limitations of mobile devices makes the decision understandable. If you want the best way to play it, Xbox and Windows allow you to pre-order and pre-install the game before release day, with an option to play it on the Xbox Game Pass day one.

Minecraft is still platform agnostic

One of the concerns with Minecraft Dungeons was that it would only be available for Xbox and Windows devices. It was an understandable concern, with Dungeons being the first full game released by Mojang under the Xbox Game Studios banner. Those fears were unfounded, with Minecraft Dungeons being listed on Mojang’s site for a full release on every modern platform. This means Xbox, Windows, Playstation, and Switch.

Mojang wanted to sweeten the pot even further and is also bringing Dungeons to Xbox Game Pass on launch day, meaning those of us subscribed to the value-driven gaming subscription will get immediate access on Xbox and Windows from the get-go. The rest of us will need to buy the game ourselves, but even there Dungeons surprises, with a shockingly low price-tag that bucks the trends of big-name titles like Minecraft Dungeons.

Minecraft Dungeons has been confirmed for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, but unfortunately isn’t quite available to purchase yet. The game doesn’t release on May 26, so we may have to wait until closer to launch day to put our money down on the game. If you were looking to play on mobile, unfortunately, this isn’t going to happen. Minecraft Dungeons is too big to fit on mobile devices comfortably, so right now, the game is limited to full-fledged gaming platforms. If you want to play on the go, the Nintendo Switch is your best bet.
